Like our work, our 2nd-generation metal fabrication company in Glendene lasts the test of time
In 1970, John and Betty Rose established JW Rose Ltd. Originally set up to service the burgeoning small boat industry; it specialised in boat trailers and associated marine work. As their reputation grew, they expanded operations by making a range of material handling equipment, including pallet trucks, hand trucks and drum cradles. In 1984 a lift manufacturing business was purchased, which enabled them to make stair lifts, wheelchair lifts, inclined lifts, hydraulic elevators, goods hoists and scissor lifts. The equipment ranged in capacity and included flat, gravity or powered roller platforms, two-directional container and pallet platforms and floor-mounted roller strands.
Decades on, this second-generation metal fabrication company, headed by David and Jackie Rose, still delivers quality work to West Auckland customers. Operating from a well-equipped 15,000-square-foot factory, it boasts a comprehensive machine shop, including centre lathes, milling machines, drills, profile cutting and welding facilities and a five-tonne gantry crane.
